Glenn Hauser logs April 12-13, 2018

** ARGENTINA. A18 schedule for RAE Argentina to the World via WRMI from 1 April:
English    0100-0200 Tue-Sat 9395 NAm (also // on 9455-ed)
Japanese   0800-0900 Mon-Fri 9455 WNAm & Asia
Chinese    0900-1000 Mon-Fri 9455 WNAm & Asia
Portuguese 1200-1300 Mon-Fri 9955 LAm
German     1900-2000 Mon-Fri 9395 NAm & Eu
Italian    2000-2100 Mon-Fri 9395 NAm & Eu
Spanish    2300-0000 Mon-Fri 5950 LAm
French     2330-0000 Mon-Fri 7780 NAm & Eu (RAE on Twitter via Alan Pennington, April BDXC-UK Communication via DXLD)

Don`t you believe it! As I have been reporting [but not on this list, of course --- bdxc-news], some of these are incorrect! Even if they don`t know it in Bs. As.

Portuguese has timeshifted for Miami DST to 1100-1200, also on 9455.
German was missing for a while, but eventually came back.
Italian has been failing to appear at all, but need to check again.

Spanish has been at 2200-2300 and still shown on WRMI sked and why should it have changed? April 12 I check circa 2230 when it`s too weak to be sure, and there is also a SAH from something else on 5950. At 2330, however, I can tell WRMI is running Fámily Radio as scheduled; and still the SAH. Nothing but WRMI is scheduled in Aoki, EiBi and HFCC. RAE Chinese & Japanese are difficult to confirm due to sleeping and lack of propagation, if really on the air. Should be on 5850 in the middle of our nights (Glenn Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST; also to bdxc-news io group)

Mauno Ritola, Finland, replied April 13: ``Nothing on either 9455 or 5850 kHz at 0820. And one more correction: 9455 kHz is on the air in Japanese at 0850 and continues in Chinese at 0900 with RAE ID`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA. 9675, April 13 at 1342, S6-S7 classic rock music; 1411 Russian. CRI Russian at 13-15, 500 kW, 37 degrees from SZG site for DVR, and consequently also USward. 500 kW from Saudi Arabia is also listed here (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000, April 13 at 0059, no signal from RHC past 0100 when English is supposed to start, as it is already underway on 6165 with `This Day in History`. A JBA carrier on 6000, however, inexplicable unless R. Guaíba, Brasil has come back after years to match the listing in Aoki/NDXC.

(Meanwhile, at 0059.5 my nearest streetlite ignites with an RF noise burst, vs orange sky at 0103 sunset tnx to huge wildfires in western OK.)

7330, April 13 at 0105, RHC Spanish is still adjacent to jamming and R. Martí on 7335; huge splash unless tuned in LSB (the other Martí on 7365 requires this BBC Pashto listener via AUSTRIA 7360 also to employ LSB). (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 13700, April 13 at 1304, RHC Spanish not on yet, supposed to start at 1300; but 13740 is going from its earlier sign-on.

I knew it! 13700 is on by 1333 recheck, heard first around 13565 impinging on the Part 15 HIFER band, among constellation of filthy FMish spurblobs, just like the same transmitter used to spew all over the 19mb from 15370 in B-17, frequently but not every day. The F# above Cmiddle tone is there too and also audible in AM on fundamental 13700. The closer spurs are best audible in FM mode, but not fully quieted. The further ones only a trace of the blob or tone, all quite approx. around 67 kHz intervals: 13565, 13633, 13767, 13834, 13901, 13968, 14038? 13499, 13432, 13366, 13300? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KIRITIMATI. 846, April 13 at 0546, JBA carrier, presumed R. Kiribati sporadically active (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PANAMA [non]. 9955, WRMI, April 13 at 0049, `Antena DX` with postal address, as the only media program originating in Panamá; sked UT Fridays 0030-0100. And luckily, NO jamming right now. BTW, home station La Chispa Estéreo is applying for a 49mb SW frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1925 monitoring: still NO signal from WBCQ 9330v-CUSB, Thursday April 12 at 2330 (while 5130v and 7490v are on and well audible). However, on and detectable at next check UT Friday April 13 at 0053 during Brother Scare --- JBA S3, and very wobbly frequency. As I am measuring it about 9329.9 it abruptly jumps down to about 9329.65. Maybe backup transmitter finally getting this frequency back on air after several days` silence whenever checked. Next WORs:

** U S A. 7490.05v, April 13 at 0107, WBCQ with Blalock the Blaster, Tourette Syndrome gospel huxter, instead of 0000 on 9330, a change made a few weeks ago, but still not on the program schedule, which continues to show `Full Gospel Hour` on 9330 every night at 00-01, and 7490 off the air after 0100 except UT Thursdays Hal Turner.

The 00-01 hour on 9330V was extended to Brother Scare who was already on 9330V most of the days and nights. Transmitter was off this week until weak wobbly resumption April 13 by 0053. But inaudible and/or off again at 0601 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5950, April 13 at 0553, again tonight, WRMI active on this unacknowledged frequency with `Oldies`, very poor, but better than 9395 & 9455. However, at 0559, 9455 has surged up for definite ID (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7505v, April 13 at 0558 check, WRNO gospel huxter in English only, S9-S5, so not all the extended time 0400-1300 is in Chinese (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9475, April 12 at 1943 check, NO signal from WTWW-1. I think the #1 transmitter needs some new parts, explaining why the #2 unit is sometimes heard on this #1 frequency.

5085, April 13 at 0101, Ted pushing ham product, and his plus/minus 12.9 kHz spurs from WTWW-2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1521.0, April 13 at 0125, definite +1 kHz het upon KOKC OKC 1520, just like old times when it was surely from the 2-megawatt Duba, Saudi Arabia transmitter running all night. Several months ago it stopped AN, off before sunset here, but suspect it is back, as can`t imagine this would be anything else. ZNS 1540 Bahamas had put spur circa 1521 but nothing to match now circa 1559. Nor any other lower-powered TA signals in cursory check of 1575 and major channels below 800 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 5055, April 13 at 0547, JBA carrier. Seems a bit early for 4KZ, Australia, so maybe the Cuban leapfrog of 5025 over 5040 another 15 kHz higher; however, no reverse match audible on 5010 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
